    Obituary

    Mary A. Brown was born March 8, 1908 John and Carrie Glover in Talledega, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Carrie Glover; her husband: Willie Brown; two brothers: John Wallace and Willie Glover. one sister: Carrie Gamble.

    She accepted Christ at St. Mary Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama at an early age. As a child she loved to sing. Mary and her oldest brother John Wallace were known as the "Singing Glover Twins".

    She moved to Kansas City in 1942, where she joined the Park k Avenue Baptist Church at 19th & Park under the ministries of Rev. Richard Dixon. She was a very active member of several auxiliaries, which included Sunday School President Missionary Board and the Adult Choir.

    Mary A. Brown went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 1999 at Swope Ridge Nursing Home.

    She leaves memories to be cherished by her two sons: Oliver Lee (Dora Lee) Taylor, and Minister Virgil (Sherlyn) Brown; one daughter Evangelist Victoria Dixon; one sister: Irene Elston, all of the city.Seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildred; twenty-one great-great grand-children; one great-great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and an adopted daughter; Mary Roberson.
